My New Stamping Buddy

I wanted to introduce a new stamping buddy of mine.  Her name is Alli, she is my 11 year old niece and she has recently taken up the craft of stamping.

My brother and his family moved to north Texas last May and I am sad to say, until that time I had very little contact with my nephew and niece.  However after leaving the corporate environment in late September I have been able to "get to know" my family and it has been a wonderful experience and blessing.

Alli and I have discovered that we both like crafting so recently we have spent a couple Saturdays playing in my long ignored craft room.  Her first card ever was the lovely creation above which she gave to me.  It was a thank you for letting her come over and play.  Believe me, I cried when I read her words.

She did up two very beautiful cards for her mom and grandma for Mother's day the Saturday before the made-up holiday but we ran late that day so in our mad scramble to get her home I forgot to take pictures.  Both cards were beautiful and I have no doubt that in very little time she will be showing me how it's really done.  LOL

0ur plan is for Alli to come by one day a month so we can bond and make cards, so hopefully we can dust off my supplies and start posting more.

Thanks for stopping by .....

  1. SO good to see you here again! I'm glad Allie inspired you to play again (and I'm sure you inspired her too!). I have an 8-year old niece who loves to craft and since I am surrounded by teenage boys and men, it is a very special time for me.

  2. What an awesome card Allie made!! I think you are right, Carole, she will be schooling you before too long! I'm so happy for you to have this opportunity to bond and create with her! My little grandsons love making cards and I just love that they will always have the memories of our time together in the Playhouse. You will always be a special Aunty to her!

Thank you so much for stopping by and joining my blog! It looks like I have already joined you. I'm sorry it's taken me a few days to stop by. I'm a little overwhelmed (in a good way!) by the response to my NBUS Challenge and I'm taking the comments in order received. I am glad to hear that you will be posting more often and joining in the challenge! I can't wait to see what you create! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Darnell
