Broken Camera

I set up my version of a photo studio this weekend to take pictures of the 5 cards I've made in the last month, only to find my camera didn't work. I need a battery. In the mean time, I made a slide show of old cards that are still on my computer. With luck, 5 new cards next week or maybe even this weekend.

Enjoy.

Just a quick post .....

Just a quick post to say I've been working long hours but was able to take a long weekend. I've been working on several cards in the evenings when I can get home at a decent hour, but only a few have been completed. One was for my mothers birthday and I am waiting for my lovely sister in law to take a picture of it for me so I can post it.

I hope to have several cards to post over the next few days. :D

Better Late than Never

I finally finished my Christmas Thank You cards today. I started them last Sunday and I am happy to say, they are all filled out, addressed and have been popped into the post. *yay*

It's a simple card, mostly because I had over 25 to make with limited time to make them. I stamped out the main image last week and whenever I managed to find a few moments free I'd work on coloring them in.

The stamp is by Stampendous! called Stocking Window; SU!'s Real Red and watercolor paper (for the main image); 90lb watercolor pad paper for the middle layer and the card itself. I think the "so grateful" stamp is SU! as well, but I can't figure out which set it came from, sorry. I added Dazzling Diamonds to the stocking and used Cuttlebug's Holly embossing folder for the middle layer. Super simple and I hope it will please the recipients.

Thank you for stopping by and looking.

This is my first post here at blogger. I can't wait to get back into stamping as I've been away from it for some time. 2008 was an awful year for me, filled with one disaster after another, which make it impossible to get inspired.

Last week I suddenly found my email filled with SCS gallery replies to a card I had made ages ago. At first I thought that someone must have found the card by searching through the True Friend Stamp gallery; which would have popped the card into the current comments section and others were just replying to be nice. But the replies kept coming, so I finally made my way back to Splitcoast to see if I could figure out why my card had suddenly become popular. I was completely blown away to find that Roxy had used my card as the example for a sketch challenge. To me, thats a huge honor.

From there I looked up some old friends and found that a fabulous group of ladies that I used to follow and chat with had started their own blog. I immediately looked them up and found myself once again inspired and even managed to make a card using a sketch challenge they posted a few weeks back. (I'll try and remember to take a picture of it tonight and get it posted)

I felt a big part of my loneliness melt away when making that card. I never realized how much it meant to me. So I signed up here and will get myself back into my unfinished craft room and get busy making my much loved cards.

So for now, here is an older card that happens to be in my photobucket.

Thanks for looking in.
